Added flare in the bow and stern will provide a drier ride. The volume of the canoe at the 4-6″ waterline (about where the paddlers sit) has been increased. This won’t slow the canoe down when paddled lightly loaded but it will provide a more seaworthy ride and a larger carrying capacity when required. The fiberglass ribless layup is one of the toughest available in the fiberglass industry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs in all of our canoes, the bow \u0026amp; stern are reinforced with aminimum of two layers of kevlar®. The ribless layup consists of 6 to 7 layers of glass on most areas of the hull bottom. The absence of any ribs or keels eliminates any ‘stress risers’ on the bottom of the hull. This will allow the hull to flex under extreme force with a minimum of adverse effects.
